The practice assignment

From scattered files to a handoff someone can check.

In a fictional VA-agency scenario, you receive mixed documents, notes, and spreadsheets. Your task is to make the information usable for another teammate.

You’ll work with supplied training materials containing public company facts and simulated opportunities. No outreach is drafted or sent, and no live business accounts are connected.

01 / StartA folder of mixed files

Documents, notes, duplicates, and gaps.

02 / ReviewA supported company list

Organized copies and traceable findings.

03 / AdaptAn updated handoff

New evidence, preserved history.

The workbook has six fields. A record is ready only when all six are supported; otherwise it stays in Needs Review. This preview shows the structure, not the exercise answers.

What you’ll practice

Six activities. One connected assignment.

  1. 01

    Inspect the documents

Ask OpenCode to read the practice folder. Open its inventory and check what it found, including duplicates and missing information.

Working toward: A saved workspace inventory

  2. 02

    Define the context

Set the goal, limits, and order of work. Review the plan before moving on.

Working toward: A plan for one Excel handoff

  3. 03

    Research the gaps

Check the supplied evidence for missing or conflicting details. Keep source locations and leave unsupported information unresolved.

    Working toward: Source-linked research notes

  4. 04

    Organize the files

Review the proposed folder structure and approve it before the agent creates organized copies. Keep the original files.

Working toward: A reviewed proposal and organized copies

  5. 05

    Build the Excel handoff

Produce a readable company list. Check the six fields, source support, formatting, and visible gaps.

    Working toward: A company-information workbook

  6. 06

    Adapt to changes

Review new information, reconcile the changes, and create an updated handoff while preserving the first version.

Working toward: A revised workbook and change summary

Your facilitator

Facilitated by Ace.

Expect explanation, practice, and shared review.

Ace guides the first group through the assignment. You operate the tools, open the outputs, and explain what you notice. When something needs correction, the practice includes diagnosing it and trying again.

This is an introduction and guided experience. It does not promise independent mastery after one session.

Before joining

Prepare for hands-on practice.

  • A laptop for using OpenCode Desktop and reviewing files.
  • A connection suitable for the online practice and Zoom session.
  • A new practice folder with supplied workshop materials.
  • Your questions and willingness to inspect the results yourself.

Exact supported-device requirements, model access, and setup instructions are still being checked. They will be confirmed before registration opens. Do not bring confidential employer or personal files.

Common questions

Know what to expect.

Who is the first workshop for?

Virtual assistants who use AI mainly through chat and are new to directing agents through work.

What will I make?

The intended outputs include an inventory, a work plan, research notes, organized file copies, and an Excel handoff. You will practice revising the handoff when new information arrives. Completion depends on the practice and review, not simply receiving an agent’s “done” message.

Do I need to code?

This is not a coding course. You will direct and review an agent through ordinary instructions. Detailed device and setup requirements will be confirmed before registration opens.

Is the workshop free?

Free for the first group. The selected first cohort has 5 participants. This is the planned group size, not a live remaining-seat count.

When is it, and how long will it take?

The first run is planned online via zoom. The date is to be announced, and the duration is to be confirmed.

Do I need to refer clients, introduce my employer, or purchase further services?

No. The workshop is a standalone learning experience. There is no required referral, employer introduction, or follow-on purchase.

How will my place be confirmed?

Registration is not open yet. When registration opens, you will first receive a signup acknowledgement. Your place is confirmed only when Ace sends you a separate confirmation email. This page does not reserve a seat.
