Understand the data
Meet the CSV.
Read the column names and decide what each number represents.
Read sales.csv and brief.md. Explain the columns, row count and how revenue is calculated.
Code execution
Calculate before explaining.
Use code for totals and exclude cancelled orders.
Calculate completed-order revenue by product and by channel. Save checked-totals.csv and show the calculation code.
See a comparison
Make the first chart.
Turn product revenue into a labelled chart.
Create revenue-by-product.svg as a labelled bar chart using the calculated totals. Include PHP units and a zero baseline.
Explore a second view
Ask a different question.
Look at channels to see another side of the same data.
Create revenue-by-channel.svg, then write findings.md with two observations supported by exact totals.
Recalculate
Change the question.
A new filter should produce a new calculation and clear labels.
Repeat the product comparison for completed orders on or after 2026-09-08. Save a new chart and state the filter.
Save it and check it
Open what you made.
Look at the actual file. What worked, and what did you need to correct?
